FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — Tiger swimming traveled to Emmanuel College this weekend for a quad meet with the Lions, Bethel University and Point University. The Tigers came away with a pair of NAIA standards and a 1-1-1 record.
 
Campbellsville defeated Bethe for the second straight weekend, 81-77, but fell to Emmanuel, 168-28, and ended with an 80-all tie with Point.
 
The two relays picking up NAIA "A" standards came in the 200 Yard Medley and 200 Yard Freestyle. Chris Telman, Isaac Lewis, RJ Harris and Tucker Hardin finished second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:34.83 and then also placed third in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:49.59.
 
Telman, a senior from Bordeaux, France, also had a solid showing in the 200-yard freestyle. He rallied back in the final 50 yards to swim the second-fasted split of 27.99 to cut Emmanuel's Stanislas Raczynsku's lead down to exactly two seconds, finishing in second place with a time of 1:51.56 – just 0.53 seconds from qualifying with an NAIA B standard.
 
Sophomore Eduardo Doilin competed in the 100 Yard Freestyle and finished just behind the winner from Emmanuel College by less than three seconds. Doilin swam the 100 in 54:20 – a full two-plus seconds faster than his seeded time.
 
"We had very good teamwork in our relays and that showed with a pair of NAIA standards," said coach Casey Smith. "Overall, our team did really well against great competition across the board. The endurance the team is building has paid off by finishing strong in every event. This meet was a really good experience for them, as there was a lot of change in competition lineups."
 
After competing for three weeks in a row, the Tigers will have a few weeks to prepare for a dual at Asbury College on Friday, Oct. 28.  CU returns home on Saturday, Nov. 5 to host Lindsey Wilson and Union College in Powell Athletic Center.
