WALESKA, Ga. — Tiger wrestling picked up a pair of wins today over Reinhardt University, 27-11, and Spartanburg Methodist College, 38-8.
The victories move Campbellsville's duals record to 7-2 overall and the win over Reinhardt improves the Tigers' Mid-South Conference slate to 4-1.
Campbellsville 38, Spartanburg Methodist 8
After dropping just two matches at 133 and 157, Campbellsville won the final eight matches to roll past Spartanburg Methodist.
CU got on the scoreboard with a forfeit win for
Adrian Camposano and then earned three-straight victories at 141 and 149.
Jayce Carr earned the victory at 141 with an 11-4 decision and
David Sparks picked up a major decision (12-2) at 149.
Brandon Pledger,
L.J. Henderson,
Chuck Sharon,
Tristan Palmer and
Terrell Moore all earned victories to close out the dual.
Pledger pinned his opponent in 1:03, while Henderson earned a hard-fought 3-2 decision. After a pair of forfeits for Sharon and Palmer at 184 and 197, respectively, Moore followed with a 9-1 decision for the dual victory at 285.
Campbellsville 27, Reinhardt 11
After winning the first three matches and taking a 11-0 lead in the dual, Reinhardt rallied back with three consecutive wins and taking a brief 11-10 lead. But that was as close as the Eagles would get, as Campbellsville would score 16-straight points in the final four matches.
Camposano started the dual with a major decision, 15-4, at 125. He was followed with a pair of decisions by
Aaron Rugnao (6-1) and Carr (7-1).
After the wins in the middle-weights for Reinhardt, Henderson rallied his Tiger troops. He picked up a 5-1 decision and Sharon sparked the Tigers with a 15-0 tech fall victory. After
Tristan Palmer won via a forfeit at 197, Moore finished with an 8-6 victory in overtime.
Reinhardt now drops its conference record to 0-2 after falling to Cumberland University 33-3 on Nov. 23.
Campbellsville will now travel to the Ohio Northern Invitational in Ada, Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 3. Live video will be provided -
