CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Tiger swimming continues to improve their season, breaking a total of 11 school records in today's home double-dual with Union College and Lindsey Wilson College.
Campbellsville lost to the Bulldogs, 123-105, and to the Blue raiders 170-74.
Senior
Chris Telman stood out for the Tigers, breaking two records individually in the 400m freestyle and 200m freestyle with times of 4:37.56 (2
nd) and 2:06.37 (2
nd), respectively.
Telman joined freshmen Tanguy Claisse,
Isaac Lewis, and
RJ Harris in the 200m medley relay to break the team record with a time of 2:01.86 and a third-place finish.
Tucker Hardin replaced Claisse for the 200m freestyle relay for another record placing second in 1:47.94.
Seniors
Devon Cross and
Austin Tucker broke records in the 200m breaststroke and 200m fly. Cross swam a 3:07.50 and placed third and Tucker placed fourth in 3:07.00.
Hardin surpassed the 800m freestyle record in 10:18.94 in fifth place; Harris broke the 100m freestyle in fifth place with 59.44;
Seth Jones outswam the 100m breatstroke record in third with a 1:16.69; and Claisse broke the 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke records with times of 1:08.11(3
rd) and 2:29.89(3
rd), respectively.
"Everyone pushed themselves really hard today," said Coach
Casey Smith. "
Isaac Lewis works very hard at working toward the team goal and being 'others-focused.' I think it comes natural to him, but it's noteworthy and I love it."
Tiger swimming hits the road Nov. 18-19 to Sewanee University to take on the Tigers in a dual meet. They will return home Dec. 2 for a dual meet with the University of the Cumberlands Patriots in Powell Athletic Center.
