Tiger Hoops travels to Lindsey Wilson Classic on Friday & Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. — With the end of the semester finishing on Friday, Campbellsville University men's basketball will complete its fall schedule this weekend as well.

The Tigers are traveling to the Lindsey Wilson Classic on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16-17. Campbellsville will play a pair of NAIA D2 programs in the Biggers Sports Center – Washington Adventist University and Kentucky Christian University.

Fans can listen to each game on the Campbellsville University Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger and wlcufm.com. Also, live video will be provided by the host Lindsey Wilson but audio will not be provided.

CU meets the Washington Adventist Shock on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. for the first-ever matchup between the two programs. CU meets Kentucky Christian on Saturday at 5 p.m. Matt Payton will have the call of each game starting at 1:45 and 4:45, respectively.

The Tigers enter the non-conference matchup with a 7-4 record after splitting a pair of Mid-South Conference games 13 days ago, Dec. 1-3, versus Cumberland University and Lindsey Wilson.

The Shock enter the Classic with the best start in program history at 11-0. WAU is also 3-0 while playing on neutral courts, while the Tigers are 1-1.

Brian Bridgeforth leads Washington Adventist by averaging a double-double of 20 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. He is flaked by four other Shock scoring in double figures – Charles Vines (14.7), Tyrus Fleetwood (13.6), Elliot Meredith (13.5) and Eric Lindsey (12.7).

The Tigers are led by sophomore guard Hagen Tyler at 14.7 points a contest. He ranks sixth in the MSC in scoring and first by hitting almost 46 percent from the 3-point line. Tyler ranks ninth nationally by hitting 3.2 triples a game.

In addition, Erik Kinney is ½ rebound shy from averaging a double-double (12ppg and 9.5 rpg). He is flanked by fellow seniors Rod Lawrence (12.9 ppg) and Elliott Young (11.6 ppg).

CU is expected to get point guard Kelton Ford back this weekend after he fractured his jaw in the season opener versus Central Penn. Ford has missed 10 games but started practicing again this week.

Kentucky Christian enters the Classic and will play Lindsey Wilson on Friday afternoon and Campbellsville on Saturday. The Knights have started the season 3-12 overall and 0-1 in the D2 Independents but have lost four in a row.

Hayden Dunn leads KCU by averaging almost 23 points per game and 10.2 rebounds.
