Box Score NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Tiger and Lady Tiger tennis both swept their competition this weekend with identical 9-0 victories over Indiana University East.
The 15th-ranked Tigers were led by No. 6 Vladyslav Ladygin and No. 26 Alejandro Soriano, as both won in straight-sets (6-0, 6-0).
Adrian Santos won his first match as a Tiger (6-1, 6-2) and was followed by Zach Baulch (6-0, 6-1), Johan Fuzellier (6-0, 6-0), and Eduardo Mendoza (6-1, 6-0).
The Tigers were nearly perfect in doubles play – winning 24 points and dropping only one.
Soriano and Ladygin, the 11th-ranked duo in the ITA, swept Connor Kramer and Keaton Akers, 8-0. Baulch teamed up with Victor Ahlbeck and that duo also won 8-0. Indiana University East's Ethan Taulbee and Seth Gard stole a point from Santos and Fuzellier, but the Tigers dominated, 8-1.
In the women's dual, the Lady Tigers swept all four singles matches and allowed only three points in doubles to pick up their first win this spring. Majella Nobile knocked off Sally Wilhoite, 6-0, 6-4 in No. 1 singles, while Bolor Enkhbayar dominated Madison Bixler, 6-2, 6-1.
Jade Letheby and Grace Rowe also competed in singles with Letheby winning 6-1, 6-0 over Sarah Lockhart and Rowe winning in straight sets over Rebecca Lockhart.
In doubles play, Elizabeth Boik and Sarah Coffman knocked off Brittany Hethcox and Sabre Hethcox, 8-2. The final three doubles matches were all swept by the Lady Tigers, 8-0.
Campbellsville will now travel to Asbury University on Wednesday, March 9 at 3 p.m. ET in Wimore, Ky.
