Box Score WILMORE, Ky. – Tiger and Lady Tiger tennis continued their early season success with victories over Asbury University today.
The 15th-ranked Tigers swept singles and took two of three doubles matches to beat No. 22 Asbury, 6-1. Vladyslav Ladygin was able to take his match 6-2, 6-2, while Adrian Santos followed with a close win in 6-1, 6-7 (10-8).
Zach Baulch (7-6, 6-4) and Victor Ahlbeck (6-2, 6-2) won their matches, while Johan Fuzellier and Eduardo Mendoza did not finish theirs after CU had already clinched the win.
In doubles play, Ladygin and Baulch won for CU in 8-5. The pair of Santos/Ahlbeck were defeated in a close match by Asbury's Aguille Trotman and Julian Tellez, 8-7. Noah Swencki and Alex Spalding competed in the No. 3 spot, securing an easy 8-3 victory.
The Lady Tigers won 7-2 in their match against Asbury, using Bolor Enkhbayar and Grace-Laura Rowe to sweep the No. 1 doubles match and win their respective singles matches, both with scores of 6-1, 6-0.
Majella Nobile and Jade Letheby teamed up for a doubles win in the two spot, 8-5. But the pair of Laura Ross and Maria Moss defeated CU's Sara Coffman and Amber Wolf in the third doubles match, 8-4.
Nobile dueled Caitlin Congers in the first singles match, winning 6-4, 7-6. Letheby was the lone Lady Tiger to drop a singles match, falling to Alex Loprinzi, 6-1, 6-0.
Sara Coffman (6-1, 7-5) and Amber Wolf (6-2, 6-1) knocked off their opponents in the last two singles matches.
Campbellsville me's and women's tennis will seek to continue their recent win streaks, as they travel to Lawrenceville, Ga. for a three-day invitational starting on Friday, March 11.
