Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Senior day was a success for Tiger and Lady Tiger tennis as both teams tallied solid wins over Indiana University Southeast.
Five seniors represented the Tigers (10-6, 4-2 MSC) today in their 9-0 victory over the Grenadiers.
A pair of seniors, Alejandro Soriano and Noah Swencki, combined in No. 3 doubles to overtake Bryson Mills and Jacob Rankin in a tight match, winning 9-7.
Soriano, the only four-year player for the Tigers, ended the day with two victories as he also won his No. 2 singles match over Jonathan James, 6-2, 6-2. Eduardo Mendoza, a third-year senior, got his last home win, 6-2, 6-0, over Christ Braun in No. 5 singles.
Ben Ward, also in his final home match as a Tiger after battling knee injuries the past two years, blanked Austin LaFollette in the second set of No. 6 singles, taking the match 6-1, 6-0.
Vladyslav Ladygin and Zach Baulch got an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles, followed by an 8-1 Adrian Sabrojo/Viktor Ahlbeck victory in the two spot.
Ladygin, Ahlbeck and Johan Fuzellier all took their singles matches in two sets.
The Lady Tigers (5-9, 2-3 MSC) dropped just one point in their last home match of the season, beating Indiana Southeast, 8-1.
Bolor Enkhbayar/Grace-Laura Rowe knocked off the Grenadiers' Dana Frank and Katie Walsh, 8-2, in doubles. Majella Nobile doubled with Jade Letheby (8-5) and Elizabeth Boik paired with Sarah Coffman (8-3) to sweep doubles play.
Enkhbayar, Nobile, and Rowe won the top three singles spots easily. Jade Letheby battled with Maddie Ikerd until she overpowered Ikerd in a tiebreak set, winning 4-6, 6-3 (11-9). Boik defeated Abby Hurtgen in No. 5, 6-4, 6-1. Sarah Coffman dropped a hard-fought match, 7-6, 6-3, in the last singles spot.
Campbellsville men's and women's tennis will continue their season with a conference matchup against (RV) University of the Cumberlands on Saturday, April 16. First serves are set for 12:00 p.m. ET.
