Terrell Moore but was denied, sealing the Tigers win, 20-15.
With the match in Daniels' favor, 3-2,
Terrell Moore earned a stalling point with seconds left in the third period and Ameer Daniels was called for an unsportsmanlike point sealing No. 4 Campbellsville's win over No. 7 Lindsey Wilson College.
In the first of three meetings of the Battle of Highway 55 this week, the wrestling match in Powell Athletic Center tonight between two powerhouse NAIA programs did not disappoint.
Lindsey Wilson (9-5, 5-1 MSC) held the advantage from the 157 match until he 197 match. But Campbellsville earned the victory and improves its overall duals record to 15-7 and MSC record to 6-2.
The Tigers started out of the gates hot and
Adrian Camposano's tech fall at 125 was crucial down the stretch. The 15
th-ranked transfer from California, took down Colt Olinde 23-7 to give the Tigers a 5-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson's Brady Moser answered though, with an 11-6 decision over Aaron Rugnau but No. 13
Jayce Carr pushed CU's dual lead to 8-3 with a 12-6 decision over Lucas McCain.
Lindsey Wilson would then rally with three-straight match wins. In one of the closes matches all night, No. 5 Daniel Leonard upset No. 3
Jaedin Sklapsky with a 2-0 decision and No. 1 Cam Tessari pinned Donnie Beyer in 4:23 to give the Blue Raiders their first lead, 12-8.
L.J. Henderson then lost 6-0 to Cole Overman giving Lindsey Wilson a 15-8 advantage and it took the wind out of the Powell Athletic Center.
But then it was the Tigers who rallied when it mattered, winning the next four matches - three of those in overtime.

Justin Brown started the comeback with a big 3-1 win in overtime over Colton Gonzalez cutting the deficit to four, 15-11. Top-ranked
Chuck Sharon then pulled the Tigers even closer. With the match tied 3-3 and 18 seconds left in the third period, Sharon picked up two points to bring the Powell Center crowd to its feet, winning 5-3 and pulling CU within one, 15-14.
Then it was
Tyler Rowland and
Terrell Moore playing hero's late. Rowland pulled out a 6-4 overtime victory over Kohl Dodd but Moore sealed the victory with the 4-3 win with the controversial unsportsmanlike penalty given to Ameer Daniels.
