MSC regular-season title on the line as No. 14 Men’s Soccer hosts No. 10 Lindsey Wilson

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Mid-South Conference regular-season championship is up for grabs on Wednesday night when the 14th-ranked Campbellsville men's soccer team hosts' 10th-ranked Lindsey Wilson College at 8 p.m. ET on Citizens Bank Field at Finley Stadium.

The Blue Raiders currently sit a half-game ahead of the Tigers in the conference standings with Lindsey Wilson holding a 6-0-0 mark in conference and Campbellsville has gone 5-0-1. The Tigers need a victory to secure the MSC regular season title, while the Blue Raiders need at least a draw to win the conference crown. The winner of the regular-season title also earns the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament that starts next week at Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, Ky.

Campbellsville has gone unbeaten in its last seven matches, including a four-match winning streak. Last time out, the Tigers defeated Shawnee State University on the road, 10-0, to push their record to 11-1-1 on the season. Six different players recorded a goal for Campbellsville against the Bears, with Daniel Nimmo and Nathan Heath scoring twice.

A trio of Tigers have recorded 15 points this season with Ignacio Mangada leading with way with 21 points and nine goals. Heath has eight goals and two assists for 18 points, while Yudai Yamauchi has notched 15 points on six goals and three assists. Andreas Nota has started all 13 matches for Campbellsville this season making 46 saves and surrendering just nine goals.

Lindsey Wilson is 10-2-0 on the season and have won its last three matches. Both of the Blue Raider losses have come by a goal to teams that have been ranked in the top 10 for most of the season. Mutaya Mwape leads the offensive attack for Lindsey Wilson with 11 goals, nine assists and 31 points. Tyler Collishaw is tied for the team lead with 11 goals to go along with 24 points.

William Diaz has played all 1,080 minutes in goal for the Blue Raiders making 26 saves and allowing 10 goals. Diaz has also notched six shutouts this season.

Last year, Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson played to a 4-4 draw after a goal from Heath in the 90th minute to send the game into overtime. In the conference championship match, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw and the Tigers edged the Blue Raiders, 5-3, in a penalty kick shootout to win the postseason championship.

In the all-time series, Lindsey Wilson holds a 25-2-2 record over Campbellsville, but in the last four meetings, the Tigers have not lost to the Blue Raiders compiling a 2-0-2 mark.

First kick from Finley Stadium is set for 8 p.m. ET on Friday night.
