WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Campbellsville men's swimming team returned to dual meet action on Friday night, but lost a head-to-head contest to University of the Cumberlands, 150-34.
The Tigers slipped to 1-5 on season following the loss on Friday.
Campbellsville got the meet started with a second and fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of
Matthew Monday,
Seth Jones,
Josh Provost and
RJ Harris finished in second, while
Tucker Hardin,
Brandon Bagwell,
Alex Meade and
Justin Spalding recorded a fourth-place finish.
Hardin placed fourth in 1,000-yard freestyle with time of 11:16.56 and then Harris posted a time of 1:55.78 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Monday and Meade finished back-to-back in the 200-yard individual medley. Monday finished second with a mark of 2:13.04 and Meade touched the wall in 2:28.48.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Harris broke a minute with a 59.45 and placed fourth overall, to go along with Meade's fifth-place finishing time of 1:05.94.
Justin Spalding placed third overall in the 100-yard freestyle after completing the race in 55.82. Monday rounded out his meet with a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke after finishing in 57.43.
Hardin notched a third-place finishing time of 5:29.35 in the 500-yard freestyle, while Spalding wrapped up the individual events with a time of 1:11.70 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The meet concluded with the 400-yard medley relay where the Tigers had teams finish third and fourth.
Harris, Provost, Spalding and Tucker placed third overall with a time of 3:31.29. Monday, Jones, Bagwell and Meade finished fourth with a time of 3:42.37.
Campbellsville returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 at home 11 a.m. ET to face Bethel University.
