CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The 21st-ranked Campbellsville men's basketball team is back on the road Thursday night as it travels to Henderson, Tennessee to take on Freed-Hardeman University at 7 p.m. ET.
The Tigers pushed their winning streak to six games after picking up a 94-88 win on the road over Alice Lloyd College. Campbellsville's win on Tuesday night was its first true road game of the season as it climbed to 10-1 on the season.
In the Tigers last game,
Tim Coleman led the way with a career-high 27 points. Campbellsville got off to a strong start as it made 12-of-19 three-pointers in the first half.
Hagen Tyler recorded 18 points and
Shawn Johnson notched 15 points.
Andrew Smith just missed a double-double scoring nine points on four shots and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.
Following his 27-point outburst on Tuesday night, Coleman has pushed his season average to 14.1 points per game, but Tyler still leads the team averaging 15.5 points a contest through the first third of the season. Smith has notched a team-best eight rebounds per game and he is third on the team with 12.5 points a contest. Johnson is the final Tiger to average double figures this season with 11.6 points per game.
Freed-Hardeman enters the week with a record of 2-5 overall and comes into Thursday's game following a 67-66 win on the road over Lee University. Marcus Baldwin leads the Lions in scoring as he averages 20 points per game and he is the only player to average in double figures this season. Baldwin also ranks 12th in the NAIA with a three-point field goal percentage of 51.4 percent.
The Lions and Tigers met earlier this season, where Campbellsville trailed by a point at the half, but flipped the script in the second half and defeated Freed-Hardeman, 90-80, just two weeks ago. Baldwin scored a season-high 34 points, while Johnson led the Tigers with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Campbellsville is in search of its first win at Freed-Hardeman as it lost it previous two games down in Henderson, Tenn.
