Tiger wrestling hosts No. 18 Cumberland for Senior Night

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Like earlier this week in three separate battles with rival Lindsey Wilson College, No. 4 Campbellsville men's wrestling kicks off yet another trio of events with Cumberland University in a span of two days.

The Tigers host the Phoenix on Friday night in the Wrestling Facility for their final Mid-South Conference dual before the NAIA East Regional/MSC Championship on Feb. 18. CU basketball will then travel to Lebanon, Tenn. on Saturday for a pair of MSC games.

Campbellsville will also honor its four seniors tonight – Brandon Pledger, Shawn McGhee, Justin Brown and Terrell Moore. The senior night ceremonies will start at approximately 6:50 p.m. ET with the dual scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can follow live video on the CU Sports Network at the link above.

Campbellsville is coming off a 20-15 victory over No. 7 Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday night and boasts a dual record of 15-7 overall and 6-2 inside the conference. CU has its sights on another MSC regular season title but needs Southeastern and/or Reinhardt to pull upsets over Lindsey Wilson and for Cumberlands to fall at Cumberland University.

University of the Cumberlands boasts a 7-1 MSC record to sit atop the standings and is followed by Lindsey Wilson at 5-1 and Life University at 7-2. Campbellsville and Cumberland are sitting at fourth and fifth, respectively.

Tonight, though, Campbellsville has to focus on the Phoenix who bring in a No. 18 ranking. The two programs have already met once this season at the NWCA National Duals but the Tigers pulled out a 26-13 victory.

CU enters the conference dual with six ranked grapplers – No. 1 Chuck Sharon (184), No. 2 Adrian Campasano (124), No. 3 Jaedin Sklapsky (149), No. 12 Justin Brown, No. 13 Jayce Carr, and No. 15 Terrell Moore (285).

Cumberland has five ranked student-athletes led by No. 5 Sammy Rosario at 133. Kyle Delaune ranks seventh at 184, while Nate Croley ranks ninth at 157 and Brandon Weber ranks 12th at 141. Rounding out the Phoenix is No. 16 Orlando Nawade at 174.
