Box Score 2 LAKE WALES, Fla. – Tiger volleyball suffered two more losses, one to Cincinnati Christian University and the other to Saint Ambrose University, finishing the Warner University Invitational, 0-3.
Rafael Cruz and
Bryce Johnson led the Tigers in kills with 17 apiece in the two matches, while
Adam Conklin followed closely with 16.
Campbellsville's record falls to 8-20 overall, while the conference record settles at 5-5.
Match one vs. Cincinnati Christian (25-12, 25-16, 25-17)
The Tigers struggled with a .125 hitting percentage compared to the Eagles' (12-10) .403 and mustered 24 kills to their 39.
Cruz and Johnson sported eight kills each, while Conklin had seven.
Hunter Monday led in assists with 20 of the 24 total for Campbellsville.
Match two vs. Saint Ambrose (25-10, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15)
Campbellsville fell in the first two sets to the Fighting Bees (12-8), but attempted redemption in the third. Taking advantage of Saint Ambrose's errors and delivering 10 kills, the Tigers won set three, 25-18.
The Tigers lost their grip as the Fighting Bees took off in the fourth set with a 7-1 run, falling in the match, 3-1, with a .080 hitting percentage.
The trio of Cruz, Johnson and Conklin each sported nine kills throughout the four sets, and Monday assisted the Tigers 30 times.
The Tigers now face a pair of Mid-South Conference road matchups against Cincinnati Christian on March 26 at 4 p.m. and St. Andrews University on Apr. 1 at 11 a.m.
