COLUMBUS, Ga. – Tiger swimming kick-started the 2017 NAIA Championship with three school records in relay events during Day 1 and Day 2 at Columbus Aquatic Center.
Campbellsville began competition Wednesday, March 2 with the 800-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 19th. The quad of
RJ Harris,
Chris Telman,
Tucker Hardin and
Isaac Lewis swam the event in 7:29.34, just enough to break the former school record of 7:29.72.
Senior
Brandon Wiseheart joined Harris, Telman and Lewis for the 200-yard freestyle relay first thing Thursday morning to grab another school record. Finishing in 19
th, the team replaced the former record of 1:31.55 with a new time of 1:30.98.
Also earning a school record and 19
th-place finish,
Tanguy Claisse,
Seth Jones, Lewis and Telman swam the 400-yard medley relay in 3:42.40.
The Tigers will see the first of their individual competition in the championship on Friday morning as Lewis and Claisse swim for their shot at the finals in the 400-yard IM and 100-yard backstroke, respectively.
Session 4 will begin Friday morning at 9 a.m. with the 200-yard medley relay.
