No. 9 Tigers take down Cumberlands, improves Mid-South Conference record to 2-1

Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Ninth-ranked Campbellsville took down University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday afternoon at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex, 8-1.
 
Campbellsville swept doubles with ease. Brendan Aguilar and Victor Alhbeck teamed up to take down Aatu Merenhemo and Leonardo Couto, 8-4. At No. 2, Chrys Castro and Alejandro Reyes won 8-3 over Dev Sivam and Sebastian Schille and then at No. 3, Adrian Sabrojo and Alex Spalding teamed up to win 8-3 over Kenny Wilson and Tanishq Mehendru.
 
At singles, it was all Campbellsville besides one match. No. 6 Aguilar won in three sets over Merenheimo, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 and Reyes won over Couto, 6-4, 6-2 to seal the match win.
 
The only loss for CU came in singles, as Tnishq Mahendru upset Adrian Sabrojo in three sets, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Campbellsville also won at Nos. 4-6 singles in straight-sets. Alhbeck won over Schille, 6-2, 6-2, Castro defeated Wilson, 6-2, 6-2 and Mario Belloni took down Sivan, 6-3, 6-2.
 
The Tigers improve to 8-3 overall and 2-1 inside Mid-South Conference play, while Cumberlands falls to 4-11 overall and 2-1 inside the MSC.
 
Campbellsville gets back on the courts Thursday, March 30 at 3 p.m. ET as University of Pikeville travels to the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
