COLUMBUS, Ga. – In its second appearance at the NAIA Championship since reinstatement, Tiger swimming inked six more records in the books. The championship concluded Saturday night at the Columbus Aquatic Center.
Senior
Chris Telman went out with a bang with a 15-second improvement to his 1650-yard freestyle school record. He touched the wall at 17:18.98, enough for 24
th place.
Telman also started the 400-yard freestyle relay for the Tigers, followed by
RJ Harris,
Tucker Hardin and
Isaac Lewis. The team finished the race in 3:21.59, surpassing the former school record of 3:23.09 for 18
th place.
The Tigers raced in five relays and three individual events over the course of four days compared to just two relay events in the 2016 championship.
Olivet Nazarene swept the championships with their second-straight men's team NAIA Championship title and a first-ever for the women.
