Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Tennis was finally played in the Mid-South Conference tournament on Sunday after two schedule changes and a venue change. The ninth-ranked Tigers didn't let that prevent them from sweep Shawnee State University at Top Gun Tennis Academy.
With weather playing a factor in the quarterfinal matches, the first team to get to five points wins and the rest of the matches would be unfinished. The Tigers did that with ease and took down the Bears 5-0.
CU took a quick 3-0 lead in the match after sweeping each doubles match, 8-0.
Chrys Castro and
Alejandro Reyes defeated Nicholas Johnson and Caspar Nolte.
Zach Baulch and
Alex Spalding took down Zach Colley and Rodney Spriggs, while
Alberto Perez and Hercelio Cabieses defeated CJ Burk and Benjamin Bercheck.
In singles, Victor Alhbeck won 6-0, 6-0 over Rodney Spriggs, while
Mario Belloni won 6-1, 6-0 over Zach Colley.
Adrian Sabrojo was up 6-1, 2-0 before the match was halted.
Campbellsville will now play the winner of the Cumberland University and University of Pikeville quarterfinal match at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
