CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's soccer team is set to begin a three-match road trip on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET against Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
The Lady Tigers begin the road trip with a 2-6-0 record and they have lost their last two contests. In the its last match, Campbellsville suffered an 8-0 loss to then No. 1-ranked Spring Arbor University and the Lady Tigers could only generate one shot on goal, while
Amanda Howard recorded four saves.
Campbellsville has been held scoreless over its last two matches and it scored a combined 17 goals in the two matches prior to the current two-match skid.
Kiersten Clukey has paced the Lady Tiger offense thus far with a team-high 10 points and four assists. Clukey is also tied for third on the team with three goals.
Molly Hall and
Rachel Blumfeldt have each recorded a team-best four goals.
Howard has started in all eight matches for Campbellsville, where she has compiled 35 saves and helped the Lady Tigers record two shutouts this season.
Mount Vernon Nazarene is 5-2-0 this season and they come into the match following a 3-0 win over Cincinnati Christian University on Monday. The Cougars rank seventh in the NAIA with five shutouts this season and Madi Moore has recorded four of the team shutouts. Moore has been the mainstay in goal for Mount Vernon Nazarene playing in all but five minutes this season and has compiled 29 saves.
Alexa Skal leads the Cougars this season with three goals and two assists, while Amberly Knox and Chloe Garris have chipped in with a pair of goals and an assist each.
The last time the two programs met, was during the 2012 season. Campbellsville and Mount Vernon Nazarene played to a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes of play in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Opening kick for Saturday's match is set for 2 p.m. ET from Cougar Soccer Field.
