Lady Tigers head south for first Mid-South Conference road trip of the year

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Lady Tiger basketball is heading south for its first Mid-South Conference road trip of the season this week. No. 3 Campbellsville travels to University of the Cumberlands on Thursday night to start the week and ends it in Marietta, Ga. at Life University on Saturday afternoon.
 
Thursday night's game is scheduled to tipoff at 6 p.m. ET at the O'Wayne Rollins Center. Matt Payton, in his first season as Voice of Tiger Basketball, will have the radio call starting at 5:45 on the CU Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger and CampbellsvilleTigers.com.
 
The Lady Tigers enter the week with a 15-2 record and is coming off an 81-54 win over rival Georgetown College last weekend. Madison Clements stole the show as she became the 34th Lady Tiger to surpass 1,000 career points. The redshirt senior from Clementsville, Tenn. was 11 points shy of the mark entering the day but pitched in her first career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while also dishing out five assists and recording four steals -- all four categories were team-highs.

Clements was joined by Jordan Doram, Madison Kaiser and Madison Faulkner in double-figure scoring, while those four combined to total 64 of the 81 Lady Tiger points.
 
Cumberlands enter the week with a 12-2 record and started conference play with a 73-61 victory over Life University last Saturday. Cheyenne Madden led UC with 22 points and 14 boards en route to earning her third MSC Player of the Week honor.
 
Jasmine Rhodes also delivered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
 
Madden is one of the top forwards in the country, ranking No. 5 in field goal percentage (61%), No. 11 in points per game (19.2) and No. 18 in rebounds per game (9).
 
As a team, the Patriots rank No. 6 in rebounding margin (10.9), No. 10 in holding opponents to 55 points per game and 33.7 percent from the floor.
 
Campbellsville once again is one of the best defensive and passing teams in the country. In the past five seasons, coach Ginger Colvin's defense has ranked in the Top 4 in the NAIA in total steals. This year, the Lady Tigers rank No. 1 in steals with 309, while ranking No. 2 in 2016-17 (428), 2014-15 (434) and 2013-14 (468). Lastly, CU ranked No. 4 in 2015-16 with 427 steals. In addition, CU has ranked in the Top 9 in steals per game.
 
On the offensive end of the floor, The Lady Tigers rank No. 1 in the NAIA with 314 assists & No. 4 in assists per game (18.4).
