Through the first two conference games, the Tigers are allowing the opposition to score 92.5 points per game and they allowed non-conference foes to score just 72.4 points a game. Campbellsville's offense has also sputtered to start conference action as it is shooting just 27.5 percent from three after making 40.9 percent in its non-conference slate.
Life comes into the game on Saturday with a 12-5 record and earned its first conference win of the season after beating previously unbeaten Georgetown, 82-77, on Thursday night at home. Undra Mitchem sparked the Running Eagles with a game-high 26 points, while Zach Landis recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Mitchem has fueled Life this season with 14.2 points per game and Zach Landis is nearly averaging a double-double with 11.4 points a game and 9.7 rebounds. The Running Eagles are one of the top three-point shooting teams in the country as their 179 three-pointers are sixth-most in the nation. Life shoots the three at 39.4 percent clip – 13th in the NAIA – and it averages 10.5 threes a game, ranking ninth in the country.
Campbellsville leads the all-time series over Life, 7-4, but the Running Eagles won both games last season with former Tiger head coach Keith Adkins in his first season with Life. The Running Eagle beat Campbellsville by 14 points in each game last year, which was the Tigers largest average deficit against a MSC opponent last season. Adkins is 9-2 all-time in this series beating Life seven times, followed by beating Campbellsville twice last season.
Opening tip on Saturday afternoon is set for 4 p.m. ET from the Eagles' Nest in Marietta, Ga.
