COLUMBIA, Ky. – In the regular-season finale, Campbellsville's men's swimming team dropped a 149-82 contest to Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday after in the Holloway Natatorium in Columbia, Ky.
Seth Jones led the Tigers on Saturday with two individual victories, while
Matthew Monday earned Campbellsville's only other individual title.
The Tigers got the meet started with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Monday, Jones,
Josh Provost and
RJ Harris finished in a NAIA A standard time of 1:44.52.
Tucker Hardin and
Alex Meade finished third and fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle after posting times of 19:34.14 and 20:33.70. Provost was the lone Campbellsville swimmer in the 200-yard freestyle and he placed third with a time of 1:56.50.
Monday captured the Tigers first win of the day in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.12 and just missed breaking the minute mark.
Jones earned Campbellsville's second-straight first-place finish after posting a 1:02.98 in the 100-yard breaststroke. After Jones,
Brandon Bagwell and
Justin Spalding alternated finished with Bagwell placing third with time of 1:05.86 and Spalding's time of 1:10.22 was fifth overall.
In the two-man 200-yard butterfly,
Austin Tucker finished in 2:39.43 to finish second. Spalding was the only competitor for the Tigers to take part in the 50-yard freestyle and he finished in 25.32 to place fourth.
Harris (third) and Bagwell (fourth) finished back-to-back in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 52.36 and 57.18, respectively. Tucker also competed in the race and placed sixth with a 1:06.67.
The final individual victory for Campbellsville came in the 200-yard breaststroke with Jones notching a winning time of 2:22.68. Meade place third with a 3:07.83. In the 500-yard freestyle, Hardin rounded out the four-man field after touching the wall in 5:35.04.
In the second-to-last individual event of the day, Provost and Harris represented the Tigers in the 100-yard butterfly after posting race times of 57.72 and 59.69, respectively.
Jones rounded out the individual events in the 200-yard individual medley after placing third with a mark of 2:12.27.
The meet came to an end with Campbellsville placing first and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Tiger A squad of Spalding, Hardin, Provost and Harris won the event in 1:34.63 to hit the national qualify standard. Campbellsville's team of Bagwell, Monday, Tucker and Meade rounded out the field with a 1:42.41.
The Tigers head into postseason play in two weeks as they travel to Kingsport, Tennessee for the Mid-South Conference Championships.
