Tiger volleyball set to open second season on Tuesday night vs. Bluefield College

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The second season of Campbellsville men's volleyball gets underway on Tuesday, Jan. 23 as the Tigers are hosting Bluefield College at 7 p.m. ET in the Powell Athletic Center.

Campbellsville, which finished its inaugural season with a 10-21 record, has another 30-match regular season ahead of them and will once again compete in a conference comprised of the Appalachian, Mid-South, River States and Sun Conferences.  
 
The Mid-South Conference has recently announced that it is adopting men's volleyball as its 27th sport, which was approved by the MSC Council of President's on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
 
Teams that will compete in the MSC for men's volleyball are - Bluefield, Brewton-Parker, Campbellsville, Cincinnati Christian, Cumberland, Life, Midway, St. Andrews, Warner and Webber International make up the 10-team conference.
 
All of the programs listed above beside Cumberland, Life and Midway are already competing this season.
 
The Tigers return seven student-athletes from last year's team - Noel Camello (L), Keaton Marshall (DS), Derek Roby (OH), Rafael Cruz (OH), Keegan Cougill (RS), Max Stotridge (MB) and Tyler Vermillion (MB).
 
Cruz is the top offensive threat for CU returning after recording the third-most kills on last year's squad with 277. His kill mark ranked No. 30 in the NAIA and was named Second-Team All-Conference last season.
 
Camello led the Tiger defense with 266 digs, while Cruz recorded 38 blocks.

Head coach Billy Gregory signed four new Tigers for the upcoming semester - Jeremy Hernandez, Stefan Sretenovic, Shmuel Edney-Williams and Diego Romero.
 
After Campbellsville's home-opener on Tuesday night, the Tigers will travel to the Judson University Invitational this weekend with four matches vs. Robert Morris, Lawrence Tech, Quincy University and Siena Heights.
