No. 12 Men’s Wrestling hosts No. 8 Southeastern for Senior Night on Thursday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Tiger wrestling team hosts' eighth-ranked Southeastern University on Thursday night for Senior Night starting at 7 p.m. ET from the Campbellsville Wrestling Gym.

Campbellsville's wrestling program will honor five seniors prior to the match for Senior Night. Chuck Sharon, Justin Brown, Jayce Carr, L.J. Henderson and Jacob Franklin will all be honored prior to the dual for competing in their last event at home.

Thursday's dual is the only home competition for the Tigers this season. Entering the contest against Southeastern, Campbellsville finished 10th overall at the Missouri Valley College Invitational last week. The Tigers had three individuals place with Jaedin Sklapsky winning the 141-pound weight class, while Aaron Rugnao finished seventh at 133 pounds and David Sparks was sixth at 149 pounds.

Campbellsville is 7-6 in duals this season and has split its first two conference duals this season. The Tigers dropped a 31-3 contest to No. 4-ranked University of the Cumberlands and defeated Brewton-Parker College, 41-6, in its conference slate thus far. The dual against Southeastern sets up a run of three-straight duals where Campbellsville takes on three-top 10 opponents.

Individually, the Tigers have five individuals ranked within their respective weight classes. Sharon, Brown and Sklapsky are all ranked within the top five of their weight classes. Sharon is No. 2 at 184 pounds, while Brown and Sklapsky are ranked fourth at 174 and 149 pounds, respectively. Carr is No. 7 in the 141-pound division and Jordan Martinez is 18th at 125 pounds.

Southeastern is 8-5 overall this season in duals and is 2-1 in the Mid-South Conference standings. Last time out, the Fire picked up a 37-9 dual win over St. Andrews University.

Nine Southeastern grapplers are mentioned in the NAIA individual rankings, led by Olson Delisca who is ranked fifth at 125 pounds. Delisca is the only Fire wrestler ranked in the top five and is one of four individuals ranked in the top 10 of their weight classes.

The first time Southeastern and Campbellsville met came last season as the St. Andrews Duals in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The Tigers earned a 28-11 victory over the Fire, where Campbellsville won eight of the 10 matches en route to the victory.

Action begins on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET with the Senior Night ceremony and the dual immediately following.
