Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – It was a career day for much of the Campbellsville men's basketball team Saturday afternoon as they rolled over Point University 125-97 in their last game of the Faulkner Classic.
Sophomore guard
Jacob King was on fire in the second half, with 24 of his career-high 29 points being scored in the second 20 minutes. King shot 11-for-22 (50%) form the field and 7-for-17 (41.1%) from three after struggling from the field in CU's first two regular season games.
The Tigers had six total players in double figures, three with 20 or more as last year's hero
Joan Duran recorded his second-straight double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds and
Stephaun Adams got his first double-double in a Tiger uniform with 21 points and 10 assists.
Senior forward
Deion Evans also recorded his first career double-double as a Tiger with 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
Hagen Tyler and
Ronald Taylor were the other two Tigers in double figures as Tyler finished with 12 and Taylor added 11 of his own.
CU as a team had a better day shooting from the field than they did last night in their 70-69 win over Voorhees. The Tigers shot 58.1 percent from the field (50-for-86), 40.5 percent from three (17-for-42) and 80 percent from the free throw line (8-for-10) after shooting 44 percent from the charity stripe last night.
The Tigers started a little slow in the first half, not leading the game until they took a 13-12 lead about five minutes into the game. The game remained tight through the nine-minute mark with the score tied 27-27, but that's when CU took over as they never gave up the lead after a made basket from Tyler.
Campbellsville men's basketball moves to 3-0 on the season as they will play one more game on the road next Saturday before playing the next seven games at home at the Powell Athletic Center. The Tigers will travel to Belleville, Ill. to face Lindenwood University-Belleville in seven days.
