Tiger and Lady Tiger soccer head to Bowling Green to face Lindsey Wilson in MSC Semfinals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Tiger and Lady Tiger soccer get back underway in the Mid-South Conference Tournament this week as Campbellsville will face Lindsey Wilson in the semifinal rounds. 
 
The women's side of the bracket gets underway on Thursday at 12 p.m. ET as Campbellsville faces the top-seeded Blue Raiders at Bowling Green High School. 
 
In the other semifinal match, No. 3-seed Cumberland University squares off with No. 7-seeded Georgetown at 2:30 p.m. ET. The two winners will play at 5 p.m. ET on Friday evening.
 
On the men's side, Campbellsville plays in the night cap on Thursday as the Tigers play No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson at 7:30 p.m. ET. In the first men's semifinal match, No. 1-seeded Cumberland and No. 5-seeded Life play at 5 p.m. ET.

How the Lady Tigers got here:
  • Campbellsville defeated Life University on Nov. 1, 6-1. 
  • The Lady Tigers boast a 12-7 overall record and are looking for their first finals appearance since 2015. 
  • CU is playing it is second-straight semifinal match. 
  • In the 6-1 win over Life, Molly Hall and Lakin Walls both scored two goals each, while Hall finished with an assist in the win.
  • Both Hall and Walls rank second in the MSC with 16 goals on the year – which is in fourth on the single-season goals list. 
 
How the Tigers got here:
  • Campbellsville's men's program won 4-1 over Georgetown College in the quarterfinal to reach the semifinal once again. 
  • Lucas Batistela notched a pair of goals, while Azad Iliozer finished with a goal and assistant and Nathaniel Fonda had two assists.
  • The Tigers are playing in their sixth straight MSC semifinal. 
  • CU is seeking a championship appearance for the first time since 2016 when the Tigers tied Lindsey Wilson, 0-0, but the Blue Raiders claimed the title in PKs.
  • The Tigers are led in scoring by three individuals – Nathan Heath, Troy Walters and Nathaniel Fonda with five goals. 
 
How Lindsey Wilson got here:
  • On the men's side, the Blue Raiders dominated University of Pikeville, 9-0. 
  • MSC Player of the Year, Andrew Revanales scored four goals in the win. 
  • On the women's side, LWC also beat UPIKE, 11-0. Thea Birgerud and Emelie Lilhered both tallied three goals each in the win.
