Three program records fall in Senior Night meet vs. Cumberlands Patriots

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Three of program records fell on Friday night as Campbellsville University swimming hosted University of the Cumberlands for Senior Night.

Senior Lindsey Buckman was the lone senior that was recognized before the meet. She swam in four events on the night as she placed fifth in the 100-meter butterfly and seventh in the 50-meter freestyle.

She was also a part of two relay events – the 200-meter freestyle and the 200-meter medley – that finished third.

The three records that fell were all on the men's side – the 200-meter IM (twice) and the 100-meter breast stroke.

Tucker Hardin swam a 2:31.20 in the 200-meter IM but teammate RJ Harris bested him in an exhibition with a 2:26.02 to break the program record which was set by Matthew Monday last season (2:32.08).

In the 100-meter breast stroke, Daniel Zachar swam a 1:14.10 to finish in second place – which is .27 ahead of Seth Jones' mark of 1:14.37 set in 2017-18.

Zachar was joined by Justin Spalding and Lauren Sears with second-place finishes last night.

Spalding finished just two seconds behind in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:06.78. Sears placed runner-up in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 31.19.

University of the Cumberlands beat the Lady Tigers last night, 165-31, while the men lost 168-23.

The dual vs. the Patriots is the last one until Saturday, Jan. 19 when CU travels to Lindsey Wilson for its final dual of the year. CU is hosting one meet in the spring – the second biennial Tiger Pentathlon on Saturday, Jan. 12.
