Lady Tigers meet No. 14 Montana Western Bulldogs in Round of 16 on Friday afternoon

BILLINGS, Mont. — For the sixth straight season, Lady Tiger basketball advanced to the Round of 16 in the NAIA National Tournament after a 79-63 win over Faulkner University on Wednesday. The matchup vs. the Eagles was the first meeting in CU history and the Lady Tigers are now facing another opponent for the first time in the University of Montana Western Bulldogs.

The third-ranked Lady Tigers and 14th-ranked Bulldogs are meeting in the Round of 16 on Friday, March 16 with tipoff scheduled for 12:45 p.m. ET.

Every game for Campbellsville can be heard on the flagship station for the Campbellsville University Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger, with the Voice of Lady Tiger Basketball, Matt Payton, on the radio call. Fans can follow the Lady Tigers' run at their first NAIA Championship on the official tournament page – http://bit.ly/2Fjy9IG

In addition, the NAIA Network – the association's official video streaming home – will broadcast the first 30 games leading up to the championship final on ESPN3. The video platform, powered by Stretch Internet, allows users access to live video, statistics, and social interaction on a number of devices, including mobile. Single day passes can be purchased for $9.95, while an all-tournament package is available at $34.95.

Campbellsville boasts a 29-5 record and are looking for the fifth 30-win season in Ginger Colvin's tenure as head coach. CU's last 30-plus win season came in 2014-15 when the Lady Tigers reached the NAIA Championship game for the first time in program history. In all 30-win seasons under Colvin, CU has at least reached the NAIA Quarterfinal round – LTB would need a win Friday to keep that streak alive.

Montana Western, which competes in the Frontier Conference, enters with a 25-8 record after defeating Dillard University, 66-54, on Wednesday. The Bulldogs used a big third quarter to our-pace Dillard. Leading scorer Brianna King finished with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, as Britt Cooper finished with a double-double of 12 points 13 rebounds.

  • The 31 free throws vs. Faulkner University in the first round was the most since last season vs. Life. The 43 attempts are the most since 2014.
  • Savannah Gregory leads the Mid-South Conference by averaging 2.7 steals per game - which ranks No. 11 in the NAIA. Her 90 steals are third in the country.
