KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Andrew Smith represented the Tigers in earning NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors, the national office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Smith – who just completed his first season with Campbellsville – is the 11th Tiger in program history to be named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-American list.
This season, Smith paced Campbellsville with 14.7 points per game and 9.1 boards. The junior also notched 57 blocks to lead the teams and shot 56.5 percent from the floor. Smith ranked fourth in the NAIA with 317 rebounds and seventh in blocks. His 9.1 rebounds per game were 10th overall and his 6.5 rebounds per game were also 10th in the nation.
Earlier this season, Smith was named as an All Mid-South Conference First Team selection by the conference coaches.
This is also the fifth-straight season the Tigers have had an individual selected as an honorable mention All-American. Last season,
Erik Kinney earned honorable mention honors, while Sekou Harris captured the honor in 2016. During the 2014-15 season, Eric Gaines was an honorable mention selection, preceded by Vernon Payne's recognition in 2013-14.
Smith is one of six individuals in the Mid-South Conference to be selected to the 52-man honorable mention list.
Ryan Imhoff from Carroll College was selected as the NAIA National Player of the Year.
Campbellsville capped off its season with a record of 24-11 and an appearance in the second round of the NAIA National Championship.
