Lady Tiger softball heads to NFCA Classic for five-game slate

COLUMBUS, Ga. — No. 12 Lady Tiger softball hits the road this weekend for five games at the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) Classic.
 
Campbellsville (10-2) has a pair of games against Top 25 opponents and opens the Classic vs. Lawrence Tech University at 12:30 p.m. ET on Friday, March 9. The Lady Tigers then play No. 22 Warner University at 3:30 that same afternoon. CU has also changed its schedule to play a third game on Friday night at 8:00 vs. St. Amrbrose. 
 
CU has two more games on Saturday vs. No. 13 Ottawa University at 10 a.m. and Thomas University at 3:30. 
 
All five games are being played at the South Commons Complex in Columbus, Ga. and will air on the Campbellsville University Sports Network – www.CampbellsvilleTigers.com/watch. Live stats will also be available at www.campbellsvillestats.com.
 
The Lady Tigers are coming off a six-game road trip in Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Gulf Shores Invitational. CU earned four wins over Central Methodist (6-0), Brewton-Parker (10-2), Houston-Victoria (9-4) and No. 8 William Carey (8-2). The Lady Tigers lost to Thomas (9-0) and Faulkner University (2-0).
 
Entering this weekend, the Lady Tigers are led by freshman Ryleigh Oldham's .438 batting average, six doubles and three home runs. Oldham is coming off being named the NCCAA Player of the Week for the second time in her career. She posted a batting average of .368 in eight games and notched a hit in all but two games, while slugging .789.
 
Her lone multi-hit game of the week came against No. 8 William Carey University, where she went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored twice with two RBIs. Oldham also had a five-RBI game this past week as she drove in five of Campbellsville's 10 runs against Brewton-Parker College in a 10-2 victory. She highlighted the game with a grand slam against the Barons.
 
Alexis Smith and Jacqueline Roof are both hitting .359 (14-of-39). Smith leads the Lady Tigers with 15 RBI, while the two-time MSC Player of the Year, Roof, has four doubles, two triples and six RBI.
 
Tori Humphrey is also hitting above the century mark at .342.
 
In the circle, Neely Quint is coming off a 5-0 week and improved her record to a perfect 7-0. Quint has tossed 39.2 innings and allowed 12 earned runs for an ERA of 2.12.
 
In game two of each day, the Lady Tigers have turned to Morgan Gailor in the circle. Gailor has feel victim to a couple low run-scoring games and is 3-2 on the season. She boasts a 0.68 ERA and has allowed only three earned runs in 31 innings.
 
In the first 12 games, the Lady Tigers have out-scored opponents, 97-36. The biggest Achilles heel thus far has been CU's defense. The Lady Tigers have committed 31 errors in 12 games and a .917 fielding percentage.
