No. 4 Lady Tigers head to Georgetown to start a six-game week against conference foes

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Campbellsville continues play inside the Mid-South Conference this week as the fourth-ranked Lady Tigers head to rival Georgetown College on Tuesday, April 10.

First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at the Georgetown Softball Complex. Coverage begins at 2:45, as Jordan Alves will have the call on the CU Sports Network.

Campbellsville enters the week with a 29-4 overall record and 11-1 inside conference play. Georgetown, which boasts a 21-8 record, is 7-3 inside the conference. The Lady Tigers lead the MSC standings by two games over Lindsey Wilson, while Georgetown is behind the Blue Raiders by two games and Campbellsville by four.

Twelve of CU's final 16 games to end the regular season are against the Top 4 teams in the MSC – Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson and Shawnee State.

The Lady Tigers are entering the week after winning four in a row over University of the Cumberlands last weekend – all run-rule victories. Georgetown had won six straight games before dropping a 4-2 contest to Cumberland University last weekend.

CU is led by Tori Humphrey and Alexis Smith at the plate, as Humphrey is hitting .402 with eight home runs and 32 RBI. Smith is right behind at .375 with eight homers and a team-leading 41 RBI. The three-four-hole duo in the CU batting order are also each slugging over .700 and have on-base-percentages above .430.

Campbellsville is averaging 7.4 runs per game to lead the MSC, while Georgetown scores 5.4 per contest. CU is also dominating in the home run and RBI category (35-12 and 221-133, respectively).

The pitching staffs have been two of the best in the conference and country as well.

Neely Quint leads CU with a 19-0 record and 1.44 ERA in 21 games this season. Her 19 wins match her total from each of the previous three seasons and also rank No. 2 in the NAIA. In addition, her 0.66 walks per game ranks 12th in the country as well. Quint ranks third in the MSC in ERA (1.44), second in opponents' batting average (.223), third in innings pitched/game (5.56), second in hits per game (5.9), second in walks per game (.66) and first in wins (19).

In addition, junior Morgan Gailor had a big weekend in the circle holding Cumberlands scoreless with two complete-game shutouts. Gailor has worked her ERA back under two at 1.95 – which is sixth in the MSC.

Georgetown's Hannah Morton and Megan Brankamp are 4-5 in the MSC in ERA at 1.52 and 1.63, respectively. Morton boasts a 12-3 record and leads the MSC with 124 strikeouts. Brankamp has only started in six games but has allowed only nine earned runs in 38.2 innings. GC also has Audrey Dodd who has started 10 games and enters the week with an ERA of 4.05.
