Lady Tigers hit the road for two-game road swing this week starting in Georgia

WALESKA, Ga. — Two of the best defensive teams in the country are meeting on Thursday night at Reinhardt University as Campbellsville and Life University meet for a neutral site contest. 
 
Tipoff between the sixth-ranked Lady Tigers and Life University Eagles is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at Davis and Sis Brown Athletic Center on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. Coverage begins on the CU Sports Network starting at 5:45. 
 
The Lady Tigers and Running Eagles meet on Thursday night to start a two-game road swing this week for Campbellsville. It will be the 11th neutral game of the year for the Lady Tigers while they carry in an 8-2 record on neutral courts. 
 
Life University enters after starting its MSC season with a 1-2 record, including a win over University of the Cumberlands on Jan. 5, 79-65.
 
Campbellsville ranks No. 4 in the NAIA in steals with 16.1 swipes per game, while Life University ranks No. 1 with 16.9. But the Lady Tigers are the best offensive teams in the country as well by scoring 91.3 points per game. 


Series Facts:
  • CU and Life are meeting for the fifth time with the Lady Tigers winning the first four games.
  • Life started its basketball program in the 2016-17 season and joined the MSC the year before.
  • In the four previous games, CU is averaging 94 points per game and Life averages 63.
  • Also, in those four matchups, the Lady Tigers have turned the Running Eagles over by average of 25.6 turnovers per game -- the highest against any conference opponent the past two years.
Passing is our thing:
  • CU leads the country in assists with 410 and 21.5 dimes per game.
  • Junior Caitlin Hall leads the NAIA with 145 assists on the year and with 7.6 assists per game. 
  • She has recorded 10+ assists in six games this season.
Lady Tigers are exciting to watch:
  • Everyone who watches sports likes scoring... well CU is averaging 91.3 points per game to lead the NAIA and are a very exciting team to watch. 
  • The 91.3 points per game is the highest in the Ginger High Colvin era. 
  • The second highest is the 2010-11 year when the Lady Tigers scored 85.1 and had NAIA Player of the Year Whitney Ballinger and All-Conference players Courtney Clifton, Courtney Danis & Mackenzie Lee. 
Scouting Life University:
  • Life has reached the 11-win mark for the second time in the Anthony Maxwell era and have become one of the better teams in the MSC.
  • The Running Eagles have started MSC play with a 1-2 record after defeating Cumberlands, 79-65, but lost to Pikeville, 84-68, and Shawnee State, 92-58.
  • The Running Eagles are led in scoring by freshman Tierra Tullis' 10.3 points per game. She also is hitting 46 percent from the floor, 39 percent from 3-point land, and leads the team with 3.0 assists per game.
  • Life did pick up a NCAA DI Transfer - Cherice Harris - from Arizona. But the 5-foot-8 guard has yet to appear in any games.
  • As a team, Life leads the NAIA with 16.9 steals per game and 220 total steals - which is 10th.
  • Maeisha Teasley leads the way on the defensive side with 4.07 steals per game and 53 total steals.
  • One low part for Life is its free throw shooting is worst in the MSC at 60%.
