Zachar wins three events; CU swimming finishes regular season with dual at Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. — Men's and women's swimming both competed in their final regular season dual of the season at Lindsey Wilson College over the weekend. 
 
Daniel Zachar once again led the Tigers with a pair of first-place finishes in the butterfly, while he was also the first leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay time that brought home first-place. 
 
Zachar won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.81, while also winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.65. 
 
In the relay, he swam an opening 50 yards in 24.49 to help lead the Tigers to a first place with a time of 1:35.22. Isaiah Harris, Justin Spalding and RJ Harris were also in the race and had sub 24-second 50-yard swims. 
 
Harris had a nice day with a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.35. He also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle just a little under one second from another top-two finish of 52.01.
 
Brandon Bagwell and Justin Spalding were racing in the 100-yard breaststroke but Bagwell edged his teammate by .23 seconds with at time of 1:08.05. Spalding finished third at 1:08.28. 
 
Lastly on the men's side, the 200-yard Medley Relay finished in second place in just the second event of the day. Bragwell, Zachar and Harris were all members of that relay along with Nick Kessler. The relay finished with a time of 1:47.58. 
 
On the women's side, Lexie Upton led the way with a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM. She finished with a time of 2:33.65. She also was the second leg of the 200-yard Medley Relay that finished second with a mark of 2:09.73 – a little over one second from claiming first-place. 
 
Lauren Sears and Faith Hyde also had third-place finishes. Sears was third in the 100-yard freestyle, while Hyde was right behind Upton in the 200-yard IM.

Overall in the dual, Lindsey Wilson beat the men's team, 137-79, and the women's, 184-36. 
 
Campbellsville now has two weeks to prepare for the Mid-South Conference Championships scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Kingsport, Tennessee.
