Men’s wrestling to host triple-header of duals Friday in Gosser Gymnasium

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Tiger wrestling will host duals in Campbellsville for the first time since November when they welcome Lindenwood University-Belleville, University of the Cumberlands and Williams Baptist College into town on Friday.
 
The matches will take place in Gosser Gymnasium with side-by-side mats, as CU will face LU-B at 5:00 p.m. ET while Cumberlands faces Williams Baptist, then at 6:30 p.m. Campbellsville and Cumberlands will square off as Williams Baptist and LU-B dual then the Tigers will face Williams Baptist as the only dual in the gym at 8:00 p.m. to close out the night.
 
CU is coming off of wrestling at the Missouri Valley College Invitational, an open where they finished with the 12th most points out of the 41 teams. Their last duals came at the NWCA National Duals where they went 2-3 in the event to finish in eighth place.
 
The Lynx of Lindenwood-Belleville are receiving votes in the most recent NAIA top-20 that was released on Jan. 23. as they earned 30 voting points, behind the 46 of the team that holds the No. 20 spot. LU-B also has three individuals ranked in their respective weight classes, as Marcello Siera is the No. 11 wrestler in the 141 lbs. class, Josh McKinney is the No. 19 ranked wrestler in the 157 lbs. class and Joseph Robinson is the No. 3 ranked wrestler in the 184 lbs. class.
 
The Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands is the No. 5 team in the rankings holding in that spot from the previous poll. The Tigers and Patriots have faced off earlier this year at the National Duals, where UC came out on top 19-12 on Jan. 4.
 
UC has eight individuals ranked in their respective weight classes who are listed below.

The Eagles of Williams Baptist are ranked No. 19 in the NAIA poll, dropping from No. 16 in the previous poll.  WBU has a 4-6 record in duals so far with their most recent meet coming against Hannibal-LaGrange University, where they won 29-21.

These three meets will being a stretch of six-straight at home for the Tigers and is also the final stretch of the regular season before post-season play for the Mid-South Conference Championship and NAIA Championship.
