Sallah and Mosley both go 3-0 to lead Campbellsville to two wins in Friday night duals

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Three duals in one night is tough but Tiger wrestling prevailed in two and earned another Top 25 win in the Campbellsville Duals at Gosser Gym.

No. 17 Campbellsville dominated in its two wins by beating Lindenwood-Belleville, 46-6, and No. 18 Williams Baptist, 32-8. The Tigers couldn't overcome a forfeit and late pin by No. 5 Cumberlands and lost, 30-14.

Aaron Mosley and Mahlic Sallah were the only Tigers to pick up three wins on the night. Mosley, wrestling at 184, picked up a pair of major decisions and a pin. Sallah, at 174 pounds, earned two pins and a decision.

Campbellsville 46, Lindenwood-Belleville 6

The lone loss for Campbellsville in the dual was a forfeit win at 149 pounds for the Lynx. The Tigers earned three straight major decisions before three straight pints, another major and another two pins.

University of the Cumberlands 30, Campbellsville 14

The Tigers were only able to win four of the 10 matches and three of them came at 165, 174 and 184 to make things interesting.

After getting down 15-0, Jaedin Sklapsky earned a 9-2 decision. The Tigers fell behind 21-3 after a forfeit and pin at 149 and 157, respectively.

But then it was three straight wins for Campbellsville and the Tigers looked to make a big-time rally. Calieb Ray got it all foing at 165 pounds with an 8-0 major decision over Brady Emerson and Sallah earned a 9-3 decision over Jarod Swank. Mosley capped the run with an 11-2 major decision to get the Tigers within striking distance, 21-14, but Cumberlands won the final two matches.

David Richardson battled at 197-pounds, but Eric Deluse earned a pin with 26 seconds left in the third period to seal the win for UC.

Campbellsville 32, Williams Baptist 8

Williams Baptist was only able to win a pair of matches at 141 and 197 for its eight points. The biggest win of the night came at 174 as Sallah knocked off No. 11 Jonathan Stewart with a pin at 3:15. Stewart threw his head gear and a team point was deducted by the officials for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The Tigers earned three pins in the final four matches to finish the night. Mosley pinned Braden Zini in 4:55 and Mutuwa took down Tyler Giorgini in 2:34.

With the 2-1 record tonight, Campbellsville is now 10-8 on the year in duals and 2-3 inside Mid-South Conference play.

Up next for Campbellsville:
