CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Saturday, the battle of the Tigers will commence as CU will travel to Georgetown for the final road game of the year, kicking off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
LAST TIME OUT
- Wednesday evening, the Tigers hosted Thomas More, where they were able to record a 3-0 shutout victory.
- The Tigers first got on the board as Kalvin Semedo dribbled past a host of Saint defenders before looking to cross to Connor Pugh.
- On Semedo's cross attempt, a TMU defender deflected the ball into the net for an early CU lead.
- Campbellsville was able to extend their lead in the 76thminute as Gustavo Izzo placed his first touch of the match into the back of the net only 45 seconds after entering play.
- Izzo quickly responded by setting up another goal for Gustav Oskarsson, giving CU a 3-0 lead.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
- Through fifteen matches this season, the Tigers hold a record of 12-3 as well as 3-3 in MSC play.
- GC has developed an explosive attack, as they lead the NAIA in goals with 87, averaging 5.8 goals per game.
- They have also been able to average 4.07 assists per game for a third overall ranking in that category.
- Individually, Luca Zellman leads the offense with 22 goals, averaging 1.57 per contest, and points 49, averaging 3.5 per game, all of which lead the NAIA.
- Sebastian Bocas Canales ranks second in the country in total points with 48, while also receiving top five rankings in points per game, assists per game, total assists, and goals.
HISTORY VS THE TIGERS
- Since 2006, the Tigers have faced off 17 times, where CU has an overall record of 14-2-1 in those games.
- Campbellsville has won each of the last nine meetings, as their last loss to Georgetown took place in 2009.
- The two played twice last season, as Campbellsville won 2-0 in the regular season, before defeating GC 4-1 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
AROUND THE MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE
- Entering Saturday, Campbellsville holds a 3-2 conference record to be third in the MSC standings.
- Georgetown, who is 3-3, is fifth.
- Life University leads the Mid-South Conference as they have yet to be defeated, holding a record of 5-0.
This game will be the last on the road for CU before they head home for the Battle of Highway 55 on Oct. 30, when they host the fifth ranked Lindsey Wilson College at 8 p.m. ET.
