Lady Tigers use Greater Louisville Classic for their fastest team time in school history

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Tigers shined on Saturday as they participated in the Greater Louisville Classic.
 
In their third 5K of the season, Campbellsville was able to use numerous personal bests to record an 11th place finish with a 19:41 average, the fastest in school history.
 
Hailey Stallings continues to climb her way up the Lady Tiger records list as her time of 18:41.2, makes her only the second Campbellsville runner to break the 19-minute barrier. Stallings was able to use this mark for an overall, 17th place finish. 
 
In a field of 533 overall runners, the trio of Miranda Rzendzian, Mia Rodriguez, and Gabrielle Velez, were able to develop a nice pack to help carry the Lady Tigers to their 11th place team finish.
 
Rzendzian was able to lead the group improving her personal best time of 20:13, to a new mark of 19:44.0 and a 108thplace finish. Rzendzian's mark places her 7th all-time on the top ten fast times in school history.
 
Rodriguez was able to closely follow Rzendzian, finishing in 111th with a time of 19:45.7.
 
Velez, making her debut for the Lady Tigers, joined the tail end of their group finishing 131st overall. Velez used a mark of 19:51.3 to narrowly miss marking her name on the all-time list.
 
To round out the top five scorers for the Lady Tigers, Hailey Shank barely missed a top 200 finish as her 20:24.3 helped her finish 209th overall.
 
The remaining runners for CU consisted of Ashlyn Elmore, Olivia Napier, and Maggie Parrish. Elmore was able to improve upon a 21:51 in their season opener, to run a 20:49, finishing 262nd in the race.
 
Napier, making her season debut, was able to mark a personal best as well. After her previous best as a Lady Tiger was a 23:33, her freshman season, Napier was able to debut with a 21:12.7 and a 309th finish. Parrish closely followed with her own personal best mark of 21:16.2 and 317th.
 
The Lady Tigers were able to finish 11th out of a stout field of 62 teams, including top teams in the country at the NAIA and NCAA Division I and Division II levels.
 
Campbellsville will return to action on October 11th as the will travel to Wilmington, Ohio to compete in the Jenna Strong Invitational.
