Six Tigers go perfect in west coast swing of duals over Embry-Riddle, Vanguard and Arizona Christian

PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Fifth-ranked Tiger wrestling had a fantastic start to its duals season with three convincing wins at the Embry-Riddle Duals.

The Tigers took down the home-standing and 14^th-ranked Eagles (33-9), Vanguard University (43-3) and Arizona Christian (32-6).

Fourth-ranked Marvin Galette had a stellar weekend by picking up three wins at 133 pounds. He took down No. 9 Collin Anderson from Embry Riddle with a 9-5 decision, Jeremiah Behnke from Arizona Christian with a 9-5 decision and pinned Sunny Luna from Vanguard in 32 seconds.

Newcomer and fourth-ranked Dayton Marvell also dominated his competition at 141 pounds. He also earned a pair of decisions and a pin like teammate Galette to go 3-0 on the weekend.

At 149 pounds, No. 8 Michael Diemer went 2-0 with a forfeit win as well.

Chandler Woenker made a strong case to jump in the NAIA individual rankings with two wins and a forfeit. He pinned No. 16 Taylor Owens from Embry Riddle in 2:05 and Collin Nicholson by decisions, 9-2.

At 197, Zach Linton was perfect with three wins. The transfer from Doane University earned three pins to dominate.

The last Tiger to go undefeated on the weekend was No. 6 Ashton Mutuwa at 285 pounds. He picked up two decisions and a pin.
