CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Saturday morning, Tiger swimming hosted another double dual as Lindsey Wilson and Union College came to visit the Powell Athletic Center pool.
In a meet, where the Tigers were able to set four school records, CU continued to show growth against the Blue Raiders and Bulldogs
Collin McGuire got the record setting day started for CU in the 1500-meter freestyle. McGuire's 17:43.68 was enough to win the event and shatter the previous record by nearly two minutes.
Immediately following McGuire's performance,
Sebastian Escobar was able to break is own school record in the 200-meter freestyle, winning the event in 1:59.28. Escobar was joined by
Tucker Hardin in the event, who place seventh with a 2:16.32.
Escobar was once again able to tally his name onto the record board in the 200-meter butterfly, swimming a 2:23.77 for third place. McGuire was able to record sixth in the event.
Campbellsville's final school record came in the 200-freestyle relay as they team of Escobar,
Nick Kessler, Hardin, and
RJ Harris swam a 1:44.06 for third place.
Overall, Campbellsville fell to Lindsey Wilson 173-73, and Union 171-78, both of which are in the top ten in the NAIA's most recent poll.
The Tiger's next meet will be next Saturday, November 9
th as CU will visit the University of the Cumberlands.
