Tiger wrestling sweeps home duals over West Virginia Tech and Cumberland

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Fifth-ranked Tiger wrestling took down Cumberland University and West Virginia Tech on Tuesday night in Gosser Gymnasium as the Tigers improve to 5-0 on the year in duals.

Campbellsville almost finished with a perfect score against WVU Tech winning 59-0. The Tigers also dominated Cumberland, 34-6.

Against Tech, the Tigers finished with five pins and a 20-2 tech fall for their 59 points.

Against Cumberland, it was a little tougher with a decision, major decision, tech fall and pin was needed to finish off the Phoenix.

Eight of the 10 wrestlers finished 2-0 on the night – Jordan Martinez (125), Marvin Galette (133), Dayton Marvell (141), Michael Diemer (149), Logan Smith (157), Chandler Woenker (165), Zach Linton (197) and Ashton Mutuwa (285).

In the upper-weights, Linton and Mutuwa both picked up a pair of pins to lead the Tigers.

Campbellsville now has a few weeks before it travels to Pigeon Forge for four total duals in Tennessee on Dec. 13.
