Lady Tiger softball announces second signee in Macon County's Morgan Carter

LAFAYETTE, Tenn. — The second signee for Lady Tiger softball was recently announced as head coach Shannon Wathen welcomes Morgan Carter to the 2020-21 signing class.

Carter, a catcher from Macon County High School, has a plethora of awards to her name.

Freshman Season:

Freshman Player of the Year - Division 1, Class AA, Region 4 and District 8
Tennessee Softball Coaches Associations All State Team Member

Sophomore Season:

Tennessean Girls Athlete Player of the Week March 12-17
Division 1, Class AA, Region 4, District 8 Co-Most Valuable Player
Tennessee Softball Coaches' Associations All State AA
Tennessee Softball Coaches' Associations Miss AA Softball
Middle Tennessee All-Mid State First Team
Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State

Junior Season:

Tennessean Girls Athlete Player of the Week March 25-30
Division 1, Class AA, Region 4, District 8 Co-Most Valuable Player
Tennessee Softball Coaches' Associations All State AA
Tennessee Softball Coaches' Associations Miss AA Softball
Middle Tennessee Athlete of the Year Finalist

"I chose CU because of the great atmosphere whenever you step on campus. I also really enjoy the small campus feel," said Carter.

"Another reason is because of the great softball program. I already knew the coaches and most of the players, so Campbellsville University is a great fit for me."

In addition to her play on the softball diamond, Carter also played basketball and soccer for Macon County High School. She was an All-District and All-Region performer in each season.

Carter is undecided on her plans for a major but her perfect 4.0 GPA has her setup for anything she wants to do in the future.

She joins Madi Gregory (Allen County-Scottsville) as the two announced signees for the 2020-21 class.
