WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Saturday, Tiger swimming visited the University of the Cumberlands to dual with the Patriots.
Sebastian Escobar had another fantastic performance for CU winning the 200-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, and helping the Tigers in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
In the 200, Escobar was able to better his season best swimming a 1:44.76. Escobar also showed improvement in the 500, by winning the event by 16 seconds and adding another season best to his day.
The 800-freestyle relay was made of Escobar,
Collin McGuire,
RJ Harris, and
Tucker Hardin were able to better their season best time by nine seconds, swimming a 7:31 in the event.
McGuire was also able to post an NAIA "B" cut in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:25 in his first attempt in the event this season. McGuire also posted a season best in the 100 butterfly with a 57.13.
Justin Spalding was also able to drop time in his attempts at the 200 free and 100 breaststroke, finishing sixth and second in the events. Spalding was able to swim a 1:59.58 in the 200 and 1:07.16 in the breaststroke.
Overall, the Cumberlands outdueled CU 145-51 after a strenuous four weeks of racing.
Campbellsville will now look to taper in preparation for their next meet, as they visit Sewanee University for their midseason invitational on Nov. 22.
