GREENVILLE, S.C. – Following a 13-6-2 2019 season, the Campbellsville University women's soccer team's first year head coach, Alex Adams, was named the NCCAA Mid-East Region Coach of the Year.
 
Adams maintained a strong 2019 CU team after their solid 2018 season under former head coach Daniel Branley that saw the Lady Tigers go 14-10. Adams led Campbellsville to appearances in both the NAIA and NCCAA National Championship tournaments where they were eliminated in the Opening Round at the NAIA and in the semifinals of the NCCAA.
 
The largest improvement for Campbellsville under Adams and the new coaching staff came on the defensive end as the team allowed almost half of the goals they did in 2018. In 2019, the Lady Tigers allowed under a goal per game after allowing 1.46 goals per game in 2018 with the totals dropping from 35 goals a year ago to just 18 this season.
 
Though the total number of goals dropped from 2018 to 2019, Campbellsville was a much more rounded offensive attack with 13 Lady Tigers score multiple goals on the season compared to just nine a season ago and 19 total players finding the back of the net in 2019.
 
Adams and the Lady Tigers will have a significant amount of the team back from the 2019 roster, including NAIA All-America honorable mention Naia Landaluce but will lose significant senior leadership in the trio of Lakin Walls, Jordan Stallings, and Rachel McWilliams.
