Tigers complete regular season with senior night wins over WVU Tech and Cumberland

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The regular season came to a close for No. 17 Campbellsville men's wrestling as the Tigers dominated West Virginia Tech and pulled out a nail bitter over Cumberland University in the night cap.

The Tigers allowed the Golden Bears to win only two matches en route to a 43-9 win. Then Campbellsville turned around to beat the Phoenix, 29-18.

CU also recognized its graduating senior class - David Sparks, Jaedin Sklapsky and Tristan Palmer

The only wins for the Golden Bears came at 133 and 149 (forfeit) but the Tigers dominated the other three matches that were wrestled and earned three forfeit wins.

Michael Beets earned a 16-6 major decision at 125, while Aaron Rugnao accumulated over two-plus minutes of riding time to earn a 2-0 decision at 141. After a forfeit at 149, Tech cut the lead to 9-7 but then it was Campbellsville winning the six straight matches to end the dual.

Logan Smith pinned Cameron Crislip in 1:05 and he was followed with a pin by Calieb Ray in 1:17 over Caleb Barley to give CU a 25-9 lead.

Aaron Mosley and Kevin Schantz earned forfeit wins before Hunter Hancock brought the crowd to its feet with a second-period pin in 4:13 over Noah Julian.
