Men’s volleyball heads to Midway for Tuesday night showdown against Eagles

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Tiger men's volleyball will take their eight-match winning streak to Midway, Ky. to face Midway University in a Mid-South Conference match Tuesday night.
 
It will be the second meeting of the season between CU and the Eagles as the last meeting went the way of Campbellsville in a sweep at the Gosser Gymnasium on Feb. 12.
 
In that match, the Tigers were dominant winning the sets 25-11, 25-12, and 25-15. It was a match were head coach Eric Snyder shuffled the lineup a bit, allowing libero and most recent NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week Joudiel Poveymirow to play an attacking role, where he led the team with 10 kills over the three sets.
 
Most recently, CU won all three of their matches at the Cumberland University Invitational against Brewton-Parker, Webber International, and Warner. The three matches had the three possible match lengths with a sweep win over Brewton-Parker, a five set win over Webber International, and a four set win over Warner.
 
Midway was also in Lebanon, Tenn. competing in the tournament hosted by Cumberland where they went 1-2, winning their most recent match against Brewton-Parker in a sweep. Victor Pietro continues to lead the offensive attack for the Eagles with 169 kills on the season and in the previous meeting between between MU and CU, Pietro led all players with 12 kills.
 
It will be Campbellsville's only match of the week as they will compete again next Monday at Cincinnati Christian before returning home next Wednesday against Bluefield.
