KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Campbellsville men's basketball seniors
Stephaun Adams,
Andrew Smith and
Hagen Tyler were named Honorable Mentions on the NAIA All-America Team, NAIA officials announced Thursday afternoon.
The three were top players in the Mid-South Conference, earning First Team All-Conference honors prior to the conference tournament and also have top statistical rankings in the NAIA.
Offensively, all three finished the season in the top-45 in the country in scoring average. Adams finished 13th at 19.8 ppg, Tyler finished 26th at 18.5 ppg, and Smith finished 44th at 16.9 ppg.
Adams, the Tigers' leading scorer also had the second-most steals in the NAIA on the season with 79 also finishing with the second-best steals per game average at 2.5 steals per game. Adams was also a solid free throw shooter, one of the best in the NAIA with the fourth best percentage from the line at 88.4 percent.
Both Adams and Tyler were in the top-10 in total three-pointers made on the season with Adams finishing seventh at 99 total threes made and Tyler finishing eighth at 96 total threes made.
Tyler also ranked 12
th in three-pointers made per game and 17
th in three-point shooting percentage at 45.3 percent to finish the season. For a guard, Tyler finished with a top-40 overall shooting percentage in the NAIA finishing at 52.5 percent from the field.
Smith was a double-double machine throughout the season with 14, good for 10
th in the NAIA. In fact, Smith averaged a double-double on the season with an NAIA fourth best rebounding average of 10.4 rebounds per game. Smith also defended the rim with authority for CU, finishing the season with 53 block, good for 12
th in the country and also becoming the career shot blocks leader in Campbellsville men's basketball history.
The 2018-19 season came to and end for the Tigers and in turn, the careers of these three seniors in the first round of the NAIA Tournament in their one-point loss to Lewis-Clark State a week ago.
