CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville men's volleyball was just in Lebanon, Tenn. to face the Phoenix of Cumberland University last Tuesday but this weekend, the Tigers will head back to Lebanon to face three other Mid-South Conference foes this weekend.
CU will play three matches, two on Friday and one on Saturday, against Brewton-Parker College, Webber International University and Warner University. Friday's matches against Brewton-Parker and Webber International will start at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET and Saturday's match against Warner will start at 3 p.m. ET.
The Tigers are riding a five-match winning streak with four of the five matches being won via a three-set sweep. Most recently against Thomas More on Tuesday, the Tigers were a force on the attack led by the 10 kills from
Jose Viera Cerame. Campbellsville hit for a .413 percentage while also holding the Saints to a negative hitting percentage.
The Barons of Brewton-Parker are 2-10 on the season so far and 0-6 in Mid-South play so far in the 2019 season. Individually Michael Conway and Gamalier Santiago average over 2.5 kills per game with setter Jacob Adkins at 115 total assists on the season.
The Warriors of Webber International are 4-6 on the season with a .500 conference record at 3-3 after wins against Brewton-Parker, Cincinnati Christian and Blueifled. Their leading attacker is Liam Gilchrist, who is over 100 kills on the season at 102.
The Royals of Warner have only competed in Mid-South Conference matches so far in 2019 for a 5-2 record. With only seven matches played, their total numbers are lower than other but they do have an attacker with over 2.7 kills per set as Jose Morales leads the Royals offense so far this season.
Cumberland University will provide live video and stats for all three of the matches the Tigers compete in over the weekend via Stretch Internet and Stat Broadcast. After the weekend, CU will continue to play away from Campbellsville with only one match next week on Tuesday at Midway University.
