CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – In the midst of a six-game winning streak, Lady Tiger soccer will hope to extend their hot play as they visit the sixth ranked Redhawks of Martin Methodist on Saturday.
Kick off for Saturday's match will take place at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT in Pulaski, Tenn. as the Lady Tigers seek to pull off the upset against the Redhawks.
Highly Touted Redhawks
- Eight games into their season, Martin Methodist holds an overall record of 6-1-1, after matching up against six teams mentioned in the NAIA top 25 poll.
- Their lone loss came at the hands of Spring Arbor University, who was the 10thranked team at the time of their meeting.
- Overall, the Redhawks have outscored their opponents 31-15 with 17 of those coming at the feet of Adisa Amang and Yuki Watari.
Lady Tigers early successes
- The Lady Tigers have also had tremendous success, outscoring their opponents 37-2 as they sit at an overall record of 6-1.
- Averaging 5.29 goals per game, Campbellsville is ranked fourth in the country in this scoring category.
- These goals have come due to the high shot count for Campbellsville as they have averaged 31.86 shots per game and 16.14 shots on goal per game, both of which sit atop the NAIA leaderboards.
- While Campbellsville's scoring has slowed in their last two matches, only tallying three goals, their defensive play has continued their stellar play led by senior captain, Jordan Stallings.
- The Lady Tiger defensive effort has Campbellsville currently ranked second in the NAIA in goals allowed per game, averaging .29 goals per competition.
Previous meetings with the Redhawks
- In four meetings against Martin Methodist since 2012, the Lady Tigers have been unable to get over the hump, falling in each of the matches.
- Their last matchup took place last year as the Redhawks, ranked fifth at the time, visited Finley Stadium to hand Campbellsville a 4-0 loss.
After the Lady Tigers were unable to get their name mentioned in the latest NAIA poll despite leading the country in numerous statistical categories, Campbellsville will hope to knock off a top ranked Martin Methodist team, to climb into next week's poll.
