CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Saturday afternoon, Tiger swimming recognized its senior class in their final meet in the Powell Athletic Center Pool.
Taking on the Wildcats of Bethel University, the Tigers, highlighted by performances from seniors
RJ Harris and
Tucker Hardin were able to capture a 105-55 win.
Starting off the day, the 200-meter medley, the team of
Noah Ackermann,
Justin Spalding, and Hardin were able to capture CU's first win of the meet, swimming a 1:59:56.
Harris, then followed the relay team with his own victory in the 1500 meter free, with a time of 18:56.80. Following this event, Harris later swam in the 200-meter IM, where he captured second place in 2:28.49, to teammate
Collin McGuire, who finished just five seconds sooner.
Following his relay performance, Hardin finished his day with win in the 100-meter fly in 1:12.26 and a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke with a mark of 1:14.85.
Joining Hardin in the backstroke was Ackermann, who finished second in 1:09.26 and Kessler who placed third in 1:11.02.
Sebastian Escobar and
Brandon Bagwell also picked up event wins on the day. Escobar won the 400-meter free in 4:41.54 and Bagwell followed in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:17.54.
The Tigers closed the day and the seniors closed their time in the Powell Pool win and school record in the 800-meter freestyle relay as the team of Harris, McGuire, Hardin, and Escobar swam an 8:48.16.
As the Tigers look to close out the season next Saturday, January 18
th at Lindsey Wilson College, Coach
