No. 7 Men's Wrestling travels to No. 3 Lindsey Wilson on Wednesday Night

COLUMBIA Ky. — The #BattleofHighway55 has a little extra excitement in the air when it comes to the wrestling mat as two of the Top 7 programs in the country are just 17 miles apart and they will square off in the Biggers Sports Center on Wednesday night.

No. 7 Campbellsville will travel to No. 4 Lindsey Wilson Wednesday with the Mid-South Conference dual starting at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can tune into the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network to watch.

The Tigers are coming in this week with a 17-1 record and have already beaten Lindsey Wilson once this season – which came a little over two weeks ago in the NWCA National Duals. That tournament was also when the Tigers took their first defeat to No. 15 Life University in the second round. But CU rallied to finish fifth place by beating then-ranked No. 7 Blue Raiders, 19-18.

Overall on the season, the Tigers are 5-1 against NAIA Top 20 opponents and most recently came off a fifth-place finish at the Missouri Valley College Invitational. In the Invite, the Tigers led the field with 18 total pins and six individuals finished with multiple falls.

The Tigers have yet to wrestle a Mid-South Conference North Division opponent as CU's back-end of the schedule will feature four conference duals starting on Wednesday night. University of the Cumberlands is 2-0, while Lindsey Wilson is 1-0 and Thomas More is 1-1. Midway University is behind Campbellsville in the standings at 0-3.

After Wednesday night, the Tigers host Thomas More on Friday, Jan. 31 and travel to University of the Cumberlands with a men-women showdown on Tuesday, Feb. 4 against the Patriots. CU then hosts Brewton-Parker and Midway on Friday, Feb. 7 for Senior Night to close out the regular season.

Lindsey Wilson enters Wednesday night with an 11-2 record – the loses came to No. 6 Baker and then-No. 3 Campbellsville at the National Duals.

Like Campbellsville, the Blue Raiders have 10 individuals ranked led by No. 1 Brandon Reed at 285. LWC also has two others ranked second in their respective weight classes – Latrell Davis (149) and Derrick Smallwood (157)
