CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Coming off of their biggest win of the early season and a 16-day layoff, the Campbellsville University men's basketball team prepares to get back to action when they host Cumberland University this Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET at the Powell Athletic Center.
Last time out, the Tigers earned a win over then No. 15 University of the Cumberlands by a final score of 76-75. Guards

ONE MAN WRECKING CREW
- The Tigers have had their ups and downs on the offensive end but one consistent part for Campbellsville in 2020-21 has been the point production of senior point guard Taiveyhon Mason.
- Mason is averaging 21.3 points per game through seven games, which ranks No. 34 overall in the NAIA and third in the Mid-South Conference.
- Mason hasn't scored fewer than 15 points in a game and that game came in the Tigers' second win of the year against Simmons College of Kentucky when he played a season-low 27 minutes.
- A high volume shooter with finishing ability around the rim, the Hopkinsville, Ky. native has taken 118 of the team's 428 shots so far this season, which accounts for 27.6 percent of the shots taken.
- Combining Mason's 55 shots made and his team-leading 33 assists, he has contributed on 44.2 percent of the Tigers' made baskets so far this season.
SCOUTING CUMBERLAND
- The Phoenix will be playing in their first game outside of the state of Tennessee this season as they have played five home games and a road game at Bethel University to a 4-2 overall record and a 3-1 MSC record to start the season.
- Cumberland has had a short rotation with only four players playing in all six of their games and eight averaging more than 17 minutes per game.
- Five of those eight players are averaging double figures in points led by 20.8 points per game from Tavon King with Aaron Ridley (17.5), Tyler Byrd (16.0), Isaac Stephens (11.7), and TJ Stargell (11.3) playing supporting roles on the offensive end.
- Stephens is also a strong rebounder and defensive presence at 6-7, 236 lbs. as he averages a double-double with 10.2 rebounds per game as well as leading the team with five blocked shots and second on the team with 10 steals.
